The Big Winner of the 2018 Sam Spiegel International Film Lab "Anatolian Leopard" (Turkey) will begin shooting this coming November.

In 2018, the first prize of $50,000 was awarded to the project Anatolian Leopard (Turkey) by director Emre Kayis and producer Olena Yershova. The unanimous jury statement read: "A film director with a unique vision and courage who tells a deeply human story within an original location, a metaphor of the harsh reality in his home country".

Set in Turkey's gray and quiet capital of Ankara, Anatolian Leopard is a black comedy/drama that uses deadpan humor to illuminate the absurdity of life in contemporary Turkish society, through a story about two zoo officials who try to hide a secret in order to stop the privatization process.
