The Lab's Closing Events

This year, the Sam Spiegel International Film Lab Closing Events will take place on July 5th – 8th 2018 independently from the Jerusalem Film Festival.

During the pitching event the finalized scripts are presented before the Jerusalem Lab’s panel of international jury members, select group of producers, sales agents, distributors and other professionals from all over the world (Decision Maker).

Following the pitching event, the decision makers meet the Lab's participants (and their producers) for an exciting and fast-paced speed dating session, hopefully beginning new partnerships towards the development of the projects.

The Lab invites 7 international cinematic figures each year to serve as the jury at the Lab's pitching event. The members of the jury read the finalized scripts before arriving to Jerusalem.

After the pitching event, the jury awards production prizes totaling in $70,000, generously donated by the Beracha Foundation, at the prestigious award ceremony held at the historic St. Andrew's Scottish Church, overlooking the old city of Jerusalem.

While all guests come to work, they also enjoy the beauty and history of Jerusalem during their stay. All guests are accommidated in two of the best hotels in Jerusalem, The Dan Botique and The Mount Zion Hotel, each a five minute walking distance from the Lab's two centers, the Jerusalem Cinematheque and Mishkenot Sha’ananim.

With an array of events, including a festive dinner for all the lab's guests, a tour of the Old City and the wonderful Lab's award ceremony, the Lab's top priority during the closing events is to connect the guests with the Lab participants, while enjoying themselves in the process.
