Idan Hubel

 

Idan Hubel grew up in the town of Nahariya in northern Israel. He graduated with honors from the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School in Jerusalem.
During his studies, he wrote and directed two shorts that were screened at festivals all over the world and won several awards.

 

The Cutoff Man, Idan’s first feature film, premiered at the 2012 Venice Film Festival, and won the Best Actor Award at the Haifa Film Festival.

The film was chosen by premiere cinema magazine Rapporto Confidenziale as “one of the top five films of 2012” and had theatrical run in Israel.

In 2014, Idan wrote, edited and directed Daily Bread, a short film, which premiered at the 2014 Venice Film Festival and won the Venice Short Film Nomination for the European Film Awards 2014.

A Great Light will be Idan’s second feature film.
