Maya Dreifuss


Graduated of The Steve Tisch school of arts, Tel-Aviv University.

After the success of her two short films in Cannes festival: Wax Hurts (2001) and Visiting Hours (2005), Dreifuss had completed her debt feature She Is Coming Home (2013). The film won Best First Feature Film, Best Actress and Best Cinematography at the Jerusalem Film Festival 2013 and won Best Female Supporting Role at the Israeli Academy Awards.

Maya is the script editor of the award winning film Sand Storm which won the Israeli academy award for best film and the world cinema prize in Sundance.


In 2016 she co-created and artistically directed Heroine a full length feature film comprising 5 short stories written and directed by five woman directors. The film participated in Haifa film festival and will be released in theatres around Israel.

For the last ten years she has been teaching screenwriting and directing at Steve Tisch school of arts, Tel-Aviv University and the of Beit Berl college of arts.

Highway 65 will be Maya's second feature film.
