Myriam Gharbi


After completing her Masters degree in Cinema in 2005, she co-directs with David Bensaïd Vü (2011), a self-produced experimental short film run on a tight budget which is selected in French and foreign film festivals and is also broadcast on the short film program "The 23rd dimension".

She continued her work with documentaries projects addressing notions of identities (Kassaman: laureate Talents en courts/CNC/Comedy Club) and borders (Baleo!, finalist Largardere’s prize)


In 2014, she won the France Ô prize and directed her first short narrative in Guadeloupe. April 4th 1968 has been shown at the Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and selected in French and foreign films festivals and has been broadcasted on the France Ô channel and TV5 World.

Pirates will be her first fiction feature.
