Martin Repka

 

Born in Frankfurt, Germany.

 

Graduated with honors the Film & Television Academy VSMU in Bratislava, Slovakia.

 

He is the director and writer of several internationally successful short films such as ”Swimming“, “The Last Supper“ and “Thieves“, which have been presented on hundreds of int. Film Festivals worldwide, such as: Oberhausen, Tampere, Cannes, Munich, New York, Toronto, Bilbao, Clermond-Ferrand and were awarded with a number of prizes, among them 2 Diploma of Merits from the Tampere Int. Short Film Festival and the First Prize of the Jury from Short Cuts Cologne.

 

His latest short film “Tiger Fight“ has been shot in Chennai, India and is in the final post-production stage.

 

His full length feature film debut “Return of the Storks“ was the Slovak national entry for the 80th Academy Awards won the Hessian Screenplay Award and received 5 National Award Nominees in Slovakia. 

 

“The Tattooist“ will be Martin‘s second full lenght feature film.
