Philippe Lacôte


Philippe Lacôte was born in 1971 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He received a BFA in literature and an MA in linguistics from the University of Toulouse.


After having gained professional experience in Africa, Germany and France, Philippe has taken a central lead in establishing the Ivory Coast film industry.


He is highly active as a short film and documentary film director (Cairo HoursChronicles of War in the Ivory Coast) and has served as an associate producer and production manager of the Wassakara Company since 2002. 


Run, which won the 1st prize at the 2012 Jerusalem International Film Lab, will be his first feature film, and will debut in competition in Un Certain Regard at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.
