Dominga Sotomayor

 

Dominga was born in Santiago de Chile in 1985. In 2007 she finished her filmmaking studies and created the production company CINESTACION.

She has directed the short-films Cessna (2005), Noviembre (2007), Debajo (2007), La Montaña (2008) and Videojuego (2009) which have taken part and received awards in several international film festivals.

 

Her first feature film, De Jueves A Domingo (Thursday Till Sunday) premiered in the Tiger Competition at the Rotterdam International Film Festival 2012, where it won the Tiger Award for Best Feature.

 

Her second feature film project, Late to Die Young, took part in the Binger Filmlab program and received the Sundance-Mahindra Filmmakers’ Award.
