- Adi Adwan
The Bride The Bride Screenwriter: Adi Adwan Producer: Itai Tamir , Laila Films Language: Arabic, Hebrew Format: 8 Episodes x 48 Minutes Send PITCHDECK LOGLINE In a Druze village where reincarnation shapes fate, investigator Jimmy Falah must solve his mentor's murder and find the mentor's missing 8-year-old granddaughter, uncovering past debts that could end the cycle of rebirth and revenge. SYNOPSIS In a Druze village in northern Israel, investigator Jamal "Jimmy" Falah faces his toughest case when his mentor is murdered and the mentors' granddaughter, Nano, goes missing. Jimmy uncovers family secrets, a violent history, and the belief that Nano is the reincarnation of a murdered bride. As he pieces together the truth, Jimmy confronts the vengeful brother behind the crimes. In a tense showdown, Jimmy chooses forgiveness over revenge, saving Nano and breaking the cycle of reincarnation and vengeance. WRITER'S STATEMENT The series delves into the mysterious Druze community, blending mysticism, tension, and intrigue. As a Druze, I bring authenticity, revealing complexities only an insider can. While reincarnation is central, the series also explores the secretive nature of Druze life—its divisions, gossip, and generational conflicts. The eight episodes, inspired by my experiences, use voice-over monologues to explore each character's past, gradually uncovering their motivations and ties to the narrative, while offering viewers a rare glimpse into a world rarely portrayed on screen. ABOUT THE WRITER A Druze screenwriter, director, and producer known for his work in film and television. His feature film ARABANI is recognized as the first Druze-Israeli film Jerusalem Film Festival award-winner. His 2023 documentary THE THIRD MAN, commissioned by Makan 33 - Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, premiered at the Haifa International Film Festival. Adwan is currently developing a feature film supported by the Israel Film Fund. He also appeared as an actor in the fourth season of FAUDA. PRODUCER'S STATEMENT Adi Adwan, whom I’ve known for nearly 20 years, conceived the idea for the series. We began developing it during our travels up north, searching for locations and further honed it during the workshop. From the beginning, I was drawn to the mystical and religious concepts unfolding within a closed society. The uniqueness of using reincarnation to solve various cases is magical. It's a significant challenge, but Adi's advantage, coming from the Druze community and knowledgeable about its secrets, is immense. We still have a way to go, but the foundations are solid and available starting today. PRODUCER PROFILE Established in 2010 Laila Films is a boutique production company focused on emerging Israeli and international voices, Tamir's filmography, spanning close to fifty feature films, includes Nadav Lapid's Locarno Film Festival award-winner POLICEMAN, Keren Yedaya's Cannes Film Festival Caméra d'Or winner OR, Israel's 2019 Oscar-entry The CAKEMAKER, Dani Rosenberg’s film, OF DOGS AND MEN, Venice 2024, and films by Tsivia Barkai Yaacov, Anat Maltz, Raphael Najadri, and many others. Oasis Oasis Screenwriters: Nur Fibak, Mae Palty Producer: Orly Arbel , SIPUR Language: Hebrew Format: Send PITCHDECK LOGLINE When the daughter of a passionate park ranger discovers her father died in an explosion in the middle of the desert, she leaves her hectic city life and returns to her hometown to uncover the real cause of his death. SYNOPSIS Maya Shushan (35) is a talented, cool journalist who wrote an article three years ago that was so powerful it was picked up by the New York Times. However, since then, her journalistic career seemed to dry up. She is burned out, her boss threatens to fire her, and her life, in general, is not really as she planned. But then, she gets informed that her father, a passionate Park Ranger, had died in an explosion in the middle of the desert. She leaves her hectic city life and returns to her deserted hometown, even though she really doesn't want to confront her past. When she gets there, it appears that police are spouting nothing but nonsense and lies about her father’s death. She discovers that shady investors with sharp snake boots are starting to build a fancy spa hotel around the beautiful Oasis of the "Ein Devora" reserve, the iconic magical reserve her father protected his entire life. Her instincts awaken: something doesn't feel right. Maya realizes that she needs to stay there a little longer before returning to her dying career in the city. There, in the heart of the desert, alongside her post-traumatic little brother and her long-time high school sweetheart, she tries to come to terms with her mother—a religious and terrifying woman by all accounts. She will do anything to investigate the real cause of her father's death. Soon, Maya finds herself taking up her father's fight in a conflict that is as old as time, the war over one small piece of land. Humanity against nature. Disparate groups fight for control— The hotel investors, the police, the nearby military base, the religious Jewish community, the desert Bedouins, and even the Nature and Parks Authorities. Maya discovers that her sense of purpose, extinguished by city life, has been reignited. After years in Tel Aviv, she discovers that her father's death brings her back to life. - Shira Porat
Moods Moods Screenwriter: Shira Porat Producer: Lee Shira , New Generation Productions Language: Hebrew Format: Send PITCHDECK LOGLINE A "Dancing with the Stars" choreographer discovers her mom is homeless, forcing her to blend her glitzy world with messy reality. SYNOPSIS When Daniela, who distanced herself from her mother for the sake of her sanity, discovers she is now homeless, she faces the choice of inviting chaos back into her life. A few years after Daniela (30) deliberately cut ties with her uncontrollable mother Ramona (60), to pursue her dreams as a successful choreographer, her carefully crafted life takes an unexpected turn. On the night of Mickey's marriage proposal, Daniela's doorbell rings, revealing a police officer and the long-lost Ramona. Having lost everything, sold the house and savings, homeless and in dire straits, Ramona has nowhere else to turn. Daniela is forced to bring her into her and Mickey's apartment - to help her rebuild her life. She finds her a job, opens her a bank account, tries to understand what happened to her in the months she was on the street and how she got there. Daniela allows her chaotic mother into her life, disrupting the stability she worked so hard to achieve. As Daniela juggles wedding plans, demanding celebrities from ""Dancing with the stars"" production, and caring for her helpless mother, her once-stable life crumbles. The bond with Mickey weakens, and her dream job teeters on the brink. Surprisingly, her mother's return sparks Daniela's dormant passions and emotions. Daniela finds herself doing things she never dreamt of: Stealing from stores and chasing wild boars in the middle of the night half-naked because her mother can't sleep. She breaks into her childhood home, chases after robbers or innocent people whom her mother suspects have touched her things. She breaks into a random wedding she wasn't invited to and is almost swept away in a stormy affair that will destroy her relationship , supported by her own mother. Through a shared journey, they rediscover each other. Two girls. One of them is a mother and the other a daughter. But it is not clear who is who and when. WRITER'S STATEMENT Ten years ago, I discovered that my mother was living on the streets. For three months, she navigated the challenges of homelessness, showering in beach facilities and sleeping on rooftops, all while keeping this reality hidden from me due to shame and lack of courage. Growing up in an affluent neighborhood with friends from the top decile, the harsh economic truth was unfamiliar and embarrassing. During that year, I learned that my mother had a diagnosed borderline personality structure, revealing that her struggles were not merely perceived subjectively. This revelation led me to view her with greater sympathy. What initially seemed an overwhelming challenge became a pivotal moment that positively shaped my character. Navigating the financial struggles to support my mother fostered independence. Taking charge of her life compelled me to take control of my own. Through this process, my self-esteem strengthened, and I embraced responsibility. Similar to an inexperienced parent faced with caring for a newborn, I found myself with a 65-year-old ""baby"" who wore a coat in August and resisted wearing underwear. My mother is a complex character—unexpected, original, truthful, deceptive, humorous, and at times, challenging. Despite her quirks, she possesses the most generous heart and the keenest mind. I am writing this series with immense love, aiming to touch the hearts of those who watch it. I hope it elicits laughter, evokes emotions, and encourages viewers to approach others with greater understanding. My goal is to challenge preconceived notions of normalcy and insanity, parenting and love. ABOUT THE WRITER PRODUCER'S STATEMENT An 8-episode romantic comedy providing a different, witty, funny, and touching perspective on a between mother-daughter relationship which has been severed due to the mother's mental illness. Mental illness is a common phenomenon that turns families upside down, and we believe that anyone whose family has been challenged, will relate to this human story led by two strong women – a universal story that will draw an international crowd of viewers. This is my 3rd collaboration with the creator Shira Porat, after Embezzlement (for "yes") which sold worldwide, and Motobank which is in development in Reshet and "yes". I think Shira is one of the most talented creators in our industry. She has a fresh and innovative voice, she is dedicated and versatile and I believe this series will be a big success. - Tomer Shushan
The Lampshade The Lampshade Screenwriter: Tomer Shushan Producer: Yoav Gross , Yoav Gross Productions Language: English, Hebrew, German Format: 8 Episodes x 52 Minutes Send PITCHDECK LOGLINE Omer Atias, a private investigator, is sent to Berlin by a dying Holocaust survivor to retrieve a lampshade crafted from his skin, plunging into a perilous Nazi underworld to honor his final wish to be buried whole. SYNOPSIS Omer Atias, 29, a hesitant private investigator, is sent to Berlin by the dying Holocaust survivor Joseph Adler to retrieve a mysterious lampshade. As Omer delves deeper into his investigation, he discovers that the lampshade was crafted by Ilse Koch, the notorious wife of Buchenwald’s commander, and made from Joseph's own skin. Immersed in a dark underworld of secret auctions and neo-Nazi conspiracies, Omer’s journey to fulfill Joseph’s last wish—to be buried whole—turns into a struggle for survival. WRITER'S STATEMENT As a film student, I volunteered with a Holocaust survivor foundation, where I met Joseph, a Buchenwald survivor. His haunting stories of Ilse Koch, the "Witch of Buchenwald," and her grim legacy human-skin artworks stayed with me. Years later, I met Alexa, a German volunteer, and we fell in love. Visiting her family in Bavaria, I sensed the lingering shadows of history—hidden relics and unspoken guilt. One day, I accidentally entered the wrong room and found Nazi memorabilia and photos of her high-ranking SS grandfather. These experiences inspired me to create "The Lampshade," a Berlin-based detective series where history's dark echoes haunt the present. ABOUT THE WRITER Tomer Shushan is an Israeli writer and film director, a graduate of Minshar School of Art, Tel Aviv. His short film WHITE EYE was nominated for the 2021 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film, screened at over 180 film festivals globally, and won 61 awards. A member of the American Academy since 2021, he has written for series including FAUDA (Season 4). Currently, he is developing the feature film SONAR with 150 by Warner Media. PRODUCER'S STATEMENT At Yoav Gross Productions, we are committed to exploring the depths of history and its lingering effects on the present, particularly the Holocaust, through storytelling that is both unique and profoundly moving. Our founder, the grandson of a Holocaust survivor, carries a personal connection to this dark chapter of human history, inspiring our dedication to addressing it in ways that challenge conventional narratives. Yoav Gross Productions is dedicated to telling these stories with authenticity and creativity, ensuring that the Holocaust is remembered and explored in ways that provoke thought and discussion, honoring the past while engaging with the future. PRODUCER PROFILE Yoav Gross Productions, established in 2000 by Israeli TV industry leader Yoav Gross, has become a global entertainment powerhouse.
